Call for papers

The Faculty of Philology, University of Łódź is holding the 2nd international and interdisciplinary conference

SPECLANG 2017

LANGUAGES FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES
EDUCATION AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Lodz, 3rd - 4th November 2017

The conference aims to explore a broad range of issues devoted to LSPs (Languages for Specific/Special Purposes) such as (the list is not exhaustive) LSP teaching and training, esp. LSPs and academic curricula, LSPs and current job market requirements and needs, Multilingualism and Language policies, relations between academia and industry, technical/specialized translation, corporate identity and corporate discourse, etc.

Conference languages are English, German and Polish.

We invite individual submissions for 30-minute presentations (allowing 10 minutes for questions). Abstracts of up to 300 words should be sent (using the registration form available from the conference website) not later than 15th August 2017.

The conference presentations and lectures will be accompanied by a special event devoted to student professional competence development, giving students the unique opportunity to meet their prospective employers, as well as to talk to experts, professional development coaches, HR specialists, etc.
